What is conversion rate optimization (CRO)?
Conversion rate optimization is the process of getting more of your visitors to take action, like placing an order or getting in touch. For eCommerce stores, that means finding where people drop off between landing and checkout, fixing what gets in the way, and testing changes against your current pages to keep what works.
What is a good conversion rate for a Shopify store?
It depends on what you sell. Shopify's own benchmarks put global eCommerce averages at around 2% to 3%, but rates vary widely by industry, price point, device and traffic source. Food and beauty brands often convert higher, while furniture and luxury goods tend to convert lower. The most useful benchmark is your own rate over time.
What is a CRO audit?
A CRO audit is a page-by-page review of your site with prioritized recommendations. We look at landing pages, product pages, cart and checkout, along with your analytics and session recordings, to find where people get stuck. Ours is free and follows a 30-minute discovery call.
How can I improve my Shopify store's conversion rate?
Start where people drop off. Common fixes include clearer messaging and calls to action on landing pages, better product details and images, and fewer steps and surprises between adding to cart and placing an order. We prioritize the changes most likely to make a difference, then test them against your current pages.
How much does CRO cost?
Our monthly CRO programs start at $4,000. Every engagement starts with a free CRO audit, so you'll see what we'd test first before you commit.
How long should an A/B test run?
Long enough to get a trustworthy result. That usually means at least one to two full weeks, so every day of the week is included, and longer for lower-traffic stores. Ending a test early because one version looks ahead is one of the most common ways to pick the wrong winner.
